There is a strange syndrome present in the TM kingdom which could be called the “Russell Brand Syndrome”, or it may be called the “TMO’s strange marriage with celebs”.
Over the decades the TM kingdom has amassed a list of world celebrities who have learned Transcendental Meditation. These celebs are paraded on stage at David Lynch events, or other TM-related events as well as displayed on the TM websites worldwide. As any marketer knows the mere fact that the celeb uses your “product” is a way to increase sales and increase donations to your organization. The TM kingdom has used these opportunities well.
What is a “syndrome”? Let’s see what the dictionary says:
- a group of signs and symptoms that occur together and characterize a particular abnormality or condition,
- a set of concurrent things (such as emotions or actions) that usually form an identifiable pattern.
The warning signs are ignored: In the case of Russell Brand it was perhaps that he was open about his past sex addiction and use of illegal drugs. He is also known to have shown up to work (MTV presenter) dressed as Osama Bin Laden the day after the terrorist attack in New York.
In the Vox article (link below) it is stated:
“Comedian Russell Brand has been accused of rape and sexual assault by four women who detail incidents that took place over seven years, according to an investigation by the UK’s Sunday Times, the Times, and Channel 4’s Dispatches. Brand denied all allegations in a social media video he posted on Saturday, during which he claimed that these encounters were consensual. “
“Historically, Brand has been known for embracing a hedonistic, dirtbag persona as both a comedian and an actor. He’s perhaps most associated with starring in films like Forgetting Sarah Marshall, formerly being married to pop star Katy Perry, and performing candid standup comedy in which he spoke about his drug addiction and sexual promiscuity. “
The Vox article mentions a girl named Alice who was 16 at that time, who was allegedly involved with Russell Brand. The article gives more details about the alleged incident.
Although many things were not known about Russell Brand when the TM organization began marketing with his persona, still there were enough signs to make one wonder, why didn’t they just pass over the marketing opportunity with Russell Brand.
There is also the question of Russell Brand showing off his meditation ideas on YouTube channels. For example when he led GUIDED MEDITATIONS. Some of the links below show that Russell Brand was pushing other meditation techniques besides TM.
…
So what gives? Russel Brand can experiment with other meditations, but long-time TM teachers and Sidhas in the Fairfield Iowa community were excommunicated by the hundreds for visiting with a hugging saint from India. This is a strange policy.
…
It was not only the David Lynch Foundation that encountered Russell Brand, but John Hagelin who currently is the President of Maharishi International University, and also the Raja (King) of the United States.
…
Celebs don’t look into who they are associating with: This would also be part of the syndrome, that the world-famous celebs don’t understand the organization they are helping with their celeb image. In the case of this celeb, he spent years in the orbit of the David Lynch Foundation and the TM organization, but was either comfortable with the Raja clowns – golden crowns, country flag, private money, etc. – or simply didn’t know about all these things. Here at RajaLeaks, we doubt Russel Brand did not see the golden crowns, pictures of the Maha Raja, and other aspects of the Global Country of World Peace. So it may be the Global Country of World Peace and Russel Brand were mutually attracted to each other and were comfortable with each other’s history.
The 3rd aspect of the “Russell Brand Syndrome” may be that after a while the close relationship between the celeb and the organization becomes shaky as more and more disturbing information about the celeb or the organization becomes widely known to the public. What effect does this have on TM brand marketing? This is a question. This could be said to be a potential Retroaction by the public.
How will the image of Russell Brand change when the public realizes he was pushing the Global Country of World Peace? We can speculate many of his viewers flocked to his YouTube channel because he spoke against globalism, World Economic Forum policies, in favor of nationalistic policies, against mRNA vaccines, and other opinions that can be characterized – perhaps incorrectly – as “conspiracy theories”. Will the viewers start to question Russel Brand’s discrimination ability?
We believe Russell Brand is a genuine person, whose comedy and opinions have a place in the vast field of human interactions. We hope the allegations against him do not turn out to be true. However we do question the celeb policy of the TM organization, and the David Lynch Foundation., of associating with people who are widely known for their strange lifestyle.
We can summarize the above into a working formula for this syndrome:
The Russell Brand Syndrome:
(1) The organization ignores the warning signs
(2) Celebs don’t look into who they are associating with
(3) Potential retroaction by the public to either the organization or the celeb
